ICOW member, Jim Jensen, owner of the Lucky 7 Angus, will host a bull sale and a membership drive to benefit the newly formed Independent Cattlemen of Wyoming. The event will start with a free lunch at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Riverton Livestock Auction. The bull sale will follow at 12:30 P.M.
Lucky 7 Angus will donate the bull sale average, between $2000 and $4000 to ICOW. With this donation they will offer everybody in attendance at their sale, a free membership in ICOW. You may go to CowboyBull.com to find their catalog of bulls.
We encourage members to attend this sale or bid over the internet. We would like as many members to be there so show our appreciation of this generous offer by the Jensen family.
At 9:00 A.M. there will be an ICOW directors meeting in the banquet room of the Sundowner Inn Restaurant. All members are welcome at that meeting.
ICOW was formed in March of 2007, and began taking memberships in June of 2007. They now have 120 plus members and are growing rapidly into an organization that is member driven and controlled. ICOW is actively working for a Wyoming animal health program that utilizes the brand system that has served Wyoming so well, and to get us out of mandory NAIS. A marketing committee, which is open to the members, is forming to explore marketing Wyoming beef. ICOW is making a difference in Wyoming. ICOW is funded only by the members dues and fund raising events.
