JUDY McCULLOUGH
I was raised on a cattle ranch at Oshoto, WY, where I learned from a patient cowman how to manage and work cattle. I showed cattle in 4-H in Campbell County and at the Wyoming State Fair. I completed my BS degree in home economics at U of WYO, and began teaching at Hulett, WY. I worked as an extension agent in Johnson county. After my first husband died, I married Curt McCullough and began ranch life again, along with raising five children. When he died in 1995, I began to run the Empire Ranch of Moorcroft. Curt and I became members of Powder River Basin Resource Council back in the 1980's to fight the coal slurry pipeline. Later, when Leo McDonnell called, I joined in the efforts of the start-up R-CALF. ICOW has been a dream of mine for over three years, when I could see a large number of ranchers in Wyoming without an organization to give them voice. I am very happy to see it becoming a reality, and to see all of the support it is receiving.
